Centre for Drug Research

The Centre for Drug Research (CDR) performs cutting-edge research to improve the technologies used in the early phases of drug discovery and development. The CDR brings together biological, computational, and materials sciences to develop innovative technologies for pharmaceutical applications. Our research is focused on two main programs: biological product and natural product drug discovery technologies, and drug delivery and pharmaceutical nanotechnology. The CDR also provides top-level education and training as part of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Helsinki, one of the best multidisciplinary research universities in the world. With a commitment to innovation and collaborative research, the CDR strives to develop pharmaceutical technologies to reduce the cost of developing new medicines.
